Real Madrid are set to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold this summer, yet another Liverpool player on Los Blancos’ radar is Ibrahima Konate.
The French international has enjoyed his best season yet with the Reds as Konate finally enjoyed an injury-free year to form a commanding defensive partnership with Virgil van Dijk, with the pair instrumental in Liverpool’s Premier League title win.
As a result of the centre-back’s form, though, Madrid are now interested in signing Konate, with the Spanish giants keen to bring in a centre-back this summer as the 15-time European champions look to bolster their ranks defensively.
And Liverpool have now set their demands for Madrid if they want to sign Konate this summer.

According to Marca, Liverpool have set a €100m (£85m) asking price for Konate this summer, a fee that Madrid are unwilling to pay as the Spanish giants appear to be looking at cheaper alternatives in the transfer market.
Liverpool target Dean Huijsen is also on Madrid’s radar after the AFC Bournemouth star enjoyed a sensational breakout year in the Premier League with the Cherries, with the defender expected to leave the English south coast this summer.
However, one player who seemingly won’t be joining Los Blancos during the transfer window is Konate, with Madrid already set to spend big on Alexander-Arnold’s wages as the Spanish side close in on signing the Liverpool defender for free.

Indeed, Konate remaining at Liverpool over the summer is a huge result for the Reds, but with the French defender’s contract set to become a massive issue in the coming weeks, Madrid’s stance on the centre-back must be viewed as a call to action for the Anfield side to tie the 25-year-old down to new terms.
Liverpool’s last round of contract talks with Konate has left a huge cloud of uncertainty over the defender’s future on Merseyside, with the former RB Leipzig man’s current deal set to expire in 12 months time.
Yet with Madrid set to back off from moving for Konate this summer, Liverpool now need to take the initiative and open new talks with the Paris-born star to ensure that the centre-back commits his future to Merseyside.
With Wayne Rooney hailing Konate as ‘brilliant’, Liverpool know they have a real talent on their hands in the French international, and the Reds can’t allow the defender to leave for nothing having already lost Alexander-Arnold to Madrid this summer.
