Darwin Nunez is set to leave Liverpool this summer, with Napoli one of the teams interested in the striker.

The 25-year-old Uruguay international has once again faltered leading the line for the Reds, with Arne Slot failing to get a tune out of Nunez despite career-best seasons for the likes of Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz.

As a result, Nunez is likely to depart Liverpool in the transfer window, with Napoli one of the clubs linked with the Anfield attacker as teams from across Europe and beyond prepare their proposals to sign the former Benfica man.

According to CalcioMercato, Nunez is ‘fascinated’ by Napoli’s proposal after the Serie A leaders made contact with the forward’s agent, with talks between the two parties ongoing as interest begins to build for the striker.

As per the report, Nunez is expected to give Napoli a decision on whether or not he wants to join the club in the coming days, with Liverpool willing to sell the South American for as little as £34m, an asking price that the Partenopei could be willing to match.

With Napoli also interested in signing Federico Chiesa, the potential Italian champions are likely to be a regular fixture in the rumour mill alongside Liverpool this summer, given how much business the two sides could do together.

Yet for now, Nunez looks like the most likely player to be traded between the two clubs, and the striker heading to Italy with Napoli could end up being a dream move for the striker, given all the factors involved with a potential deal.
