Liverpool may be spending a lot during the transfer window but could make plenty from selling too.
Reds fans may not have expected a busy summer after romping to the league title, but it appears that Liverpool have clear intentions to remain at the top for years to come.
Florian Wirtz’s £118m transfer is almost complete, but balancing the books is now a must and some big-name sales could happen.
Luis Diaz is attracting interest from Al-Nassr and Barcelona, with the Colombian being just one key player that the Reds may sell.
However, unlike some other fringe players, Diaz would need to be replaced as he is so vital in making Arne Slot’s team tick, although there appears to be a clear replacement if he were to leave.

When a club draws up a shortlist of options, they all tend to be players with similar qualities and all have the potential to go on to hit similar heights.
Therefore, with Al-Nassr adding Rafael Leao to their list alongside Diaz, it would make a whole lot of sense for Liverpool to go after him if the Saudi club poach their winger.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has also reported that AC Milan would want around £70m for the Portuguese international, a similar fee Liverpool can expect for Diaz despite placing a £100m price tag above his head.
Leao wants to leave Milan this summer, meaning he is very much approachable, and if he costs around the same price or even less than Diaz, it appears to be a no-brainer.
Liverpool still aren’t keen to sell Diaz this summer but with the right offer, it may be too good to refuse, especially now a like-for-like replacement has become available.
It is clear that Diaz has been one of Liverpool’s best players this season and if it wasn’t for Mohamed Salah’s record-breaking campaign, he would have received more of the plaudits.
Leao is also one of Milan’s best players and has set the Serie A alight over the last few years in particular, something he might just do in the Premier League.

Diaz and Leao also have almost identical stats, both contributing 25 goal involvements in twice the number of matches.
On paper, Leao would be the perfect replacement for Diaz and could fit in seamlessly, although time will have to tell as Liverpool brace themselves for a likely onslaught of bids for their Colombian winger.
