With Trent Alexander-Arnold already out the exit door and Andy Robertson linked with Atletico Madrid, Liverpool are looking light at the back heading into next season.

In terms of further recruits, Jorel Hato has been on Liverpool’s radar for some time now, but any move for the Ajax man won’t be easy given increased interest from other clubs.

As well as Arsenal asking to sign Hato, North London rivals Tottenham are now reportedly in the mix to sign the defender.

That is according to Ben Jacobs, who revealed to Last Word On Spurs that the newly-crowned Europa League champions have discussed a summer move for the Dutchman.

No official approach has been made, but Liverpool now find themselves fighting with yet another Premier League side – something that will no doubt drive up Hato’s asking price.

Hato has been labelled a ‘top talent’ by Edwin van der Sar, and Liverpool would be wise to listen to the former Man United man.

But with so much interest from the Premier League and across Europe, the Reds will need to tie up this deal quickly, otherwise they could face the prospect of losing him to a close rival.
