Mohamed Salah put pen to paper earlier this month to commit his future to Liverpool after months of speculation.
The Egyptian international ended any suggestion that he could leave Anfield this summer by signing a two-year extension with Liverpool, with Salah set to remain on Merseyside until 2027 as one of the club’s best-paid players.
With Virgil van Dijk also signing a new contract with Liverpool, the Reds have managed to secure two of their best players to fresh terms at the height of their powers, with the duo likely to play key roles under Arne Slot in the upcoming seasons.
Yet Salah’s contract renewal might now lead to one Liverpool player leaving this summer in the transfer window.

According to CalcioMercato, Salah’s renewal at Liverpool has pushed Federico Chiesa closer to the exit at Anfield, with the 27-year-old attacker worried that his minutes will remain limited next season with the Egyptian international now staying.
Chiesa has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce this week as rumours once again begin to pick up on the Italian’s future, with the forward hardly featuring for the Reds this season having struggled with fitness at Liverpool.
Although Chiesa has been described as an ‘incredible’ player by Paulo Sousa, the chances of the forward becoming a regular next season remain low, especially with Salah committing his future to Liverpool for the next two years.

However, even with Salah signing a new contract extension with the Reds, Chiesa’s place in the Liverpool squad should not be up for debate, with all signs suggesting that next season will be a huge one for the former Juventus star in the Premier League.
It’s safe to say that Chiesa’s first year at Liverpool hasn’t gone to plan, with the winger struggling with injuries and yet fully win the trust of Arne Slot, with the attacker not even in the matchday squad for Sunday’s win away to Leicester City.
Yet many fans expected Chiesa’s first year in England to go as such, with the Italian still yet to fully recover from years of injuries picked up during his time with Juventus as the 27-year-old looks to return to match fitness for next season.
And as a result, Liverpool know that Chiesa deserves another chance to prove just how good he can really be, with the attacker having all the quality needed to become a real hit at Anfield next season if he can stay fit.
