Liverpool and Newcastle are continuing to play a public game of poker over the potential transfer of Alexander Isak.
Isak is seemingly dead-set on a move to Anfield, having made it clear to his current employers that he is keen to leave.
However, Newcastle are not going down without a fight, and appear ready to make it difficult for Liverpool to get their man.
Isak has reportedly agreed personal terms with Liverpool, but without an agreement between the clubs, a transfer will not be possible.
And as the Reds gear up to make what is likely to be a British record-busting bid for Isak, Newcastle are said to be growing agitated with them.

Throughout the summer so far, Newcastle’s stance on Isak has been that he is simply not for sale.
However, as per the latest report from north east based outlet The Chronicle, that no longer appears to be the case.
Rather, they claim that Magpies’ chiefs have now grown ‘angry’ at waiting for Liverpool to raise funds for their bid for Isak.

They are also claimed to be less than happy with Isak himself, and are ready to ‘lay down the law’ with their star striker.
Newcastle will reportedly do this by telling Isak to report back for training and play against either Espanyol on Friday August 8th or Atletico Madrid the following day.
If, as Newcastle have been at pains to insist, Isak is not for sale, then why should it bother them how and when Liverpool make their bid?
Liverpool are seemingly waiting for Newcastle to source their replacement for Isak before going in hot and heavy with an offer.
Newcastle could miss out on Benjamin Sesko, further complicating matters, and Liverpool would probably rather things were clearer in that respect before coming in, as the chances of getting a ‘yes’ will be higher.
For the Magpies to pie this off on Liverpool seems a strange tactic, but it will not deter the Reds, who have remained steadfast in their determination to land Isak.
