Matheus Cunha has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season despite Wolves’ form throughout the campaign.
The Brazilian international has been electric for the Molineux side despite looking like a potential relegation candidate in the first half of the season, with Cunha scoring 15 goals and bagging three assists for Wolves.
Despite Cunha being on Liverpool’s radar heading into the summer, all signs currently point towards the 25-year-old joining Manchester United, with the Red Devils in talks to bring the former Bundesliga star to Old Trafford as one of their first deals of the window.
Yet Liverpool’s part in this story might not end there, with Wolves seemingly keeping an eye on one Anfield star as a potential replacement for Cunha this summer.

According to GiveMeSport, Wolves are ready to make a move to sign Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott, with the England youth international viewed by Vitor Pereira’s side as a potential replacement for Cunha this summer.
Liverpool are open to selling Elliott for £45m this summer with the 22-year-old talent yet to make a real impression under Arne Slot this season despite scoring some big goals for the Reds in some crucial fixtures.
Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen are also eyeing Elliott as interest begins to build around the former Fulham wonderkid, who could be tempted with a move away from Merseyside if given the promise of regular first-team football.

And with Wolves eyeing Elliott as a potential replacement for Cunha, it’s clear that the Premier League side see real potential in the Liverpool youngster, who has all the quality in the world to succeed as an advanced midfielder in the English top-flight.
Elliott is clearly good enough to be a regular for a top Premier League side, with the midfielder once viewed as one of Liverpool’s most exciting talents under Jurgen Klopp before finding himself as a benchwarmer this season with Slot.
Yet with Wolves viewing Elliott as a replacement for Cunha, the Liverpool youngster could find this proposal very enticing, given what it could do for the midfielder’s career and potential prospects of playing for England’s senior team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Indeed, Wolves under Pereira have been a force this year, and with Elliott on board to replace Cunha, the Molineux side could be the ideal team to take the 22-year-old midfielder’s career to the next level away from Liverpool.
