FSG’s outlook on Liverpool also seems to have changed recently, with the American businessmen allowing Slot and Richard Hughes to spend close to £200million on bolstering their ranks.

At the moment, Julian Ward is a technical director for FSG rather than Liverpool themselves.

But, as per a new report from the Daily Mail, Ward has now ‘withdrawn’ from the running.

During the 2025-26 summer transfer window, Liverpool have managed to add a fair few new faces to their ranks.

At the end of the day, it’s anyone’s guess what the future could hold at Liverpool, but with Ward now set to stay, he can focus his attention on bringing in another one or two players to strengthen Slot’s ranks even more.
