Liverpool have shown in the transfer window that they want to get deals over the line quickly.
The Reds had wanted a striker all summer long but negotiations appeared to be slow and not much progress was being made.
However, after identifying Hugo Ekitike as the man they wanted to lead the line for them next season, they appear to have all-but wrapped up the deal in just a few days.
The Frenchman will join Liverpool in a deal worth £69m plus £10m in add-ons, signing a six-year deal at Anfield.
The Reds are looking to close this deal out quickly to eliminate the potential of any drastic changes last minute, with the date of his medical now confirmed.

For fans, the boring bit is waiting for clubs to negotiate a deal, with there being many small details that need to be ironed out before excitement can kick in.
However, now that this has all been agreed, journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed that Ekitike has been given permission to fly and will have his Liverpool medical on Tuesday.

The Reds flew out to Hong Kong on Sunday evening to begin their pre-season tour of Asia, although Richard Hughes has stayed at the AXA training ground to be able to complete the move.
If all things go smoothly, the 23-year-old will fly out to join the rest of the squad later in this week, with Liverpool’s first game of the tour on Saturday 26th July against AC Milan.
Ekitike is said to only have wanted to join Arne Slot’s team and no one else despite heavy interest from many clubs, including Newcastle, Manchester United and Chelsea, and he is soon about to get his wish.
As mentioned, the Reds are already in Hong Kong to prepare for their friendly with Milan in five days’ time, and Ekitike might be present to witness it.
However, according to journalist Lewis Steele, the Frenchman is highly unlikely to feature as it will probably come too soon for him.
That being said, the Reds play Yokohama F.
Marinos in Japan on July 30th, four days later, and this could be the game where he makes his debut.
If not, he still has plenty of chances before the new season rolls around, with Liverpool playing Athletic Club twice on August 4th, before taking on Crystal Palace in the Community Shield six days later.
