Liverpool are starting the transfer window as they mean to go on by closing in on their first signing of the summer.
The Reds look set for a busy off-season as they aim to take the next step under Arne Slot.
After months of rumours, the first piece of the jigsaw is reportedly ready to arrive, with Saturday bringing claims that Jeremie Frimpong is travelling for a medical with Liverpool.
Frimpong’s news came on the back of a busy day for Liverpool’s right-backs.
Conor Bradley also hit the headlines after signing a new, four-year contract at Anfield.
With Trent Alexander-Arnold still in the building, Liverpool have moved quickly to replace him not once, but twice already.
After news of Bradley’s extension and Frimpong’s arrival, however, it begs the question of who will be Slot’s first choice at right-back next season?

Since it became clear that Alexander-Arnold was leaving, the question has been one of which route do Liverpool take to replace him.
It has been obvious for a while that Bradley deserves a chance to play more regularly, but the Reds needed to ask whether they wanted a big-money signing to compete with the youngster, or if they preferred a cheaper, more malleable option to take on the battle.

In the end, it could be argued that they have gone with the former option.
Although £30m represents good value for Frimpong, he is still a big name signing who will likely expect to play more often than not.
According to The Times, though, Bradley’s contract extension on Saturday ‘underlined his status as the club’s first choice right-back.’

Despite the impending arrival of Frimpong, it’s claimed that Liverpool’s belief in Bradley is ‘absolute.’
Some concerns over the Northern Irishman’s injury problems are hinted at, although it’s claimed that an individual fitness program is being devised to help him stay fit for a full campaign.
Meanwhile, Frimpong is reportedly seen as being able to play ‘in a number of positions’, with a suggestion that Liverpool see the Dutchman as a versatile, rotational option.
Frimpong’s arrival has caused some concern among some areas of the fanbase.
The 24-year-old is not really seen as a natural right-back by many.
However, it sounds as though that is potentially the way Liverpool are seeing him, too.
All the signs point towards Frimpong being an option at right-back if Bradley needs a rest or is out of action, while also providing cover further up the pitch as well.
In that respect, it is a no-brainer signing for Liverpool.
They shore things up at right-back while also giving themselves more quality in depth elsewhere.
There is obviously a chance that Frimpong comes in and makes himself the first choice right-back with his performances and that can’t be ruled out.
For now, though, it sounds as if Bradley has a real shot at making the position his own.
