Koumas has been described as “exceptional” by Liverpool’s Under-21 manager Rob Page, with the attacker quickly becoming one of the Reds’ best players in their youth ranks.
Although the youngster wasn’t taken on the pre-season tour, the fact that he played 45 minutes against Preston North End at the start of pre-season shows that Slot knows about his quality.
The 19-year-old had a solid season with Stoke last term, where he managed to contribute to nine goals across all competitions while playing 49 games across the entirety of the Potters’ attacking line.
Other Championship clubs, such as Norwich, have also shown an interest in Koumas, but the fact that Wrexham is much closer to Liverpool than Norwich is, means that Parkinson’s men may have a better chance of getting a deal over the line.
At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen, but with this much interest being shown in him already, it’s hard to see why he’d stay at Anfield this term.
