Jack Grealish will consider a wage drop at the end of this season to sign a permanent deal at Everton, sources have told Football Insider.
The 29-year-old is currently on loan at the Toffees from Manchester City, after falling out of favour at the Etihad Stadium.
Grealish impressed on his home debut for Everton, picking up two assists as David Moyes’ side beat Brighton 2-0 in their first Premier League game at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Sources say that the England international’s wages, which Man City are contributing towards this season, are too high for the Merseyside club to cover, but that negotiations could take place if he continues to perform well.

Despite the fact that Everton would struggle to take on the burden of Grealish’s full wages as things stand, they would be able to pay the fee required to sign him permanently.
In Man City’s agreement with the Toffees concerning the winger’s loan move, an option-to-buy clause of £50million was inserted.
Grealish will be 30 by the time his loan deal at Everton expires, but if can produce his best form for the Merseyside club, then they may be prepared to trigger the clause.

However, sources say that currently there are no immediate thoughts about a permanent deal, and both the club and player are focused on the season ahead.

Meanwhile, Yves Bissouma could be on his way to Everton after rapidly falling out of favour with Thomas Frank at Tottenham Hotspur, sources have told Football Insider.
Bissouma was left out of Tottenham’s UEFA Super Cup squad to face PSG after Frank highlighted his repeated lateness over the course of pre-season, and fans are ready to see him moved to pastures new.
Everton are still lacking cover in several positions this summer, and the Mali international is on Moyes‘ radar.
Sources have also told Football Insider that Spurs will look to recoup at least some of the £25m fee they paid Brighton for Bissouma in 2022, making any deal difficult to do.
