Liverpool’s expenditure significantly outweighs their incomings so the club are working hard to balance the cash flow.
The Reds do not often spend big but when they do, it is for a reason and they almost always recoup the money back.
This year may be trickier than most after spending £116m on Florian Wirtz, but with Richard Hughes at the helm, anything is possible.
The Liverpool sporting director has come under a bit of scrutiny since he was appointed last summer after failing to make any big signings, although that isn’t solely his fault.
However, this summer he has won all the fans over and has shown just how good he is at his job, proving that the Reds are in safe hands while he oversees negotiations.
To add to this, Hughes has just made another move that is a stroke of genius and may have just put Liverpool in good stead going forward.

Selling players is a necessity this summer and some big names could be out of the door, some that could still have had a future at the club too.
Jarell Quansah’s move to Bayer Leverkusen is almost complete and he is one of the players that many fans might be sad to see the back of, although he may not be gone for long.
MORE LIVERPOOL STORIES
Not only has Hughes managed to get up to £35m for the 22-year-old, but he has also inserted a buy-back clause in his contract to ensure Liverpool can re-sign him if he really kicks on.

Although the fee that the Reds would have to pay to get him back is unknown at this point in time, a premium fee would likely be needed given the price he has been sold at.
However, not only is the buy-back clause a stroke of genius, but the fee needed to bring him back will also very likely suit Liverpool given how Hughes only likes to negotiate on his terms, suggesting the club will be more than inclined to pay it if they see fit.
Quansah might be hugely-talented and ‘one for the future’, but unfortunately the quality in front of him in the queue is simply too great, showing how this deal is an astute bit of business all round.
Next on the agenda is completing the move for Milos Kerkez from his old club, with the Hungarian admitting that Hughes has been vital in getting this deal close to completion.
Another centre-back and a striker are also what Liverpool want, both of these being relatively young, while some quick-fire sales will happen in between.
Harvey Elliott will likely be next to have offers come in for him, especially as he continues to impress at the Under 21 European Championships, while the likes of Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa could be used in swap deals for some top targets.
Hughes will want to give Arne Slot all the players he needs in time for their pre-season tour of Asia next month, suggesting that the pace of Liverpool’s transfer window is yet to reach top speed as that deadline approaches.
