Liverpool still have a chance to reel in Manchester City and end the season as Premier League champions.
Klopp's team topped the table at the end of March, but now sit third - two points behind the reigning champions - after claiming just one point from games against Manchester United and Crystal Palace.
Thursday night saw the Reds win 1-0 away to Atalanta but still suffer a European exit thanks to their defeat at home to the Serie A side.
"Yes it was the announcement that gave us injuries to Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah," wrote one, while another said "The players he’s had fit are knackered and players coming back aren’t match fit and are rusty".
