Since June, it’s been expected that Isak would end up becoming a Liverpool player, but until the £125million fee was agreed upon, nothing was set in stone.
Indeed, Isak’s Premier League experience will likely earn him the nod over his teammate, but with the performances that Ekitike has been putting in thus far, it’s going to be hard for Slot to drop him.
The striker has signed a six-year contract with Liverpool, and with players such as Mohamed Salah and Florian Wirtz now around him, it’s hard to see how he won’t become even better.
Isak was already seen as the best striker in the top flight this season, but with players of Salah’s and Wirtz’s calibre around him, it’s unfathomable how much more he could develop.

And, if he does end up sticking out the entire six-year contract at Anfield, he could easily become a Premier League legend, especially if he continues to bag more than 20 goals per season.
At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen, but for now, it feels like Liverpool are in a rather good place, especially if they want to retain the Premier League title this term.
