Rio Ferdinand believes Alisson Becker doesn't get the praise he deserves for Liverpool's transformation into Premier League champions.

Ferdinand, though, believes it's Virgil van Dijk who is always referenced when speaking about Jurgen Klopp's side's transformation and thinks Alisson deserves more credit for the role he played.

Alisson was brought in to replace Loris Karius to help elevate Liverpool from top-four challengers to title winners after the German goalkeeper played a hand in Liverpool's 3-1 Champions League defeat to Real Madrid.

"For sure he has not had the best time in the last two [league] games but the Leipzig game was a good one to get back."

“Alisson, the goalkeeper, sometimes he gets left behind in terms of the impact he had on this squad.

Van Dijk didn’t get signed on his own," he told Vibe with Five.

The Reds won the European title the following campaign with Alisson between the sticks and then the Premier League 12 months later.
