Rio Ferdinand acknowledged Mohamed Salah for putting up "crazy numbers" after the Liverpool star yet again scored for the Reds on the opening weekend of the season.
Salah put the finishing touches on Liverpool's win against Bournemouth on Friday night, slamming home a right-footed finish deep into injury time after Federico Chiesa's dramatic 88th-minute strike restored Liverpool's lead.
The strike moved Salah level with Andy Cole in the Premier League's all-time top scorer charts — the Egyptian has now scored 187 goals in the English top flight, with only Alan Shearer, Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney having netted more.

Ferdinand posted about Salah's performance on social media platform X, writing: "Mo Salah btw… Scenes at end of game in-front of the Kop.
Crazy numbers Where’s he ranking in Premier League best ever?"
For Liverpool fans, there are not many players in the Reds' Premier League history that hold a candle to Salah, and there is no doubt that he is objectively in the debate when it comes to the identity of the Premier League's best player of all time.
After the final whistle against Bournemouth, Salah was visibly emotional as he applauded the Kop while the supporters belted out a chant in tribute to the late Diogo Jota.
Addressing the Egyptian's tearful response to the supporters' singing, Slot said: "I am not sure because I didn't ask him
I actually didn't want to go in after the game because I found it so special how our fans reacted today and how they kept on singing at the end of the game for Diogo.
"I think the whole day and the whole game is, every time you think you cannot expect more from Liverpool fans they top this or they overperform.
"Again, what a tribute and I think Mo felt after the game how special that was and probably he felt the emotion.
"We all knew his (Jota's) family is here, his wife is here, and his children are here
That mixed emotions maybe led to Mo being emotional and I think I felt the same without being in tears, but I definitely felt the same emotions."
