Rio Ferdinand has publicly expressed strong opposition to Alexander Isak joining Liverpool this summer, urging the Swedish striker to consider a move to Real Madrid instead. Ferdinand, a former Manchester United defender, conveyed his thoughts during his podcast, emphasizing his reluctance to see Liverpool further dominate the Premier League through acquiring a top striker like Isak. He said, "I think he could go to Madrid or something like that, I think he should go to Madrid, he can’t go to Liverpool. I don’t want to see this type of dominance."

Alexander Isak, who has been in exceptional form for Newcastle United this season with 26 goals and six assists, is attracting interest amid speculation about his future. He joined Newcastle three years ago and has become a fan favorite at St. James’ Park. His potential transfer is estimated to cost around £150 million, a substantial fee that could complicate Liverpool's other summer moves.

Liverpool recently clinched the Premier League title emphatically under manager Arne Slot, who has achieved great success even without a traditional number 9 striker. Adding Isak would significantly strengthen their squad and possibly extend their dominance in English football. Despite financial and competitive hurdles, former Liverpool player Stephen Warnock believes Isak would find it hard to refuse a move to Anfield if a deal is offered.

Meanwhile, Ferdinand suggested Real Madrid as a more suitable destination for Isak, given their attacking setup and status.
