Liverpool managed to beat Arsenal 1-0 on Sunday, enabling them to carry on their perfect Premier League start.

The Reds are now sitting at the top of the Premier League table and currently have nine points to their name.

The main reason behind Liverpool coming away with a win on Sunday was due to the impeccable free-kick that Dominik Szoboszlai managed to score.

The strike was 32 yards away from the goal, and although we’ve seen Szoboszlai score goals like that before, nobody expected him to pull a set-piece like that off at such a crucial time.

“These games are often decided by one moment of brilliance, and Szoboszlai steps up and it’s an absolutely ridiculous free-kick,” Ferdinand said.

“Wearing the number eight shirt, there was a number eight, [in the] years gone by who was scoring goals like that on a regular basis and that was Steven Gerrard.

“He would have been proud of that one.”

Now that the transfer window is finally closed, Liverpool can focus on gelling their first-team squad together.

Indeed, we finally saw the best of Florian Wirtz during the second half against Arsenal, and if Liverpool get that version of him from now on, they should be more than fine.
