The talented youngster continues to impress.

Rio Ngumoha has built on a breakout summer for Liverpool as he delivered a significant contribution in England’s recent win.

He netted three times in pre-season, firmly inserting himself into Arne Slot’s plans, and he then went on to become Liverpool’s youngest goal scorer of all time with a dramatic 100th minute winner away at Newcastle United in the Premier League last month.

His brilliant start to the season was rewarded with an inclusion in Liverpool’s Champions League squad.

On the same day, he made his England Under-19 debut in a 2-0 win against Ukraine.

Ngumoha was initially called up to the Under-18’s but was promoted to the Under-19’s.

Despite being just 17 years of age, he is well on his way to setting himself up for a terrific career in football.

On Saturday, Rio Ngumoha came off the bench against Spain and contributed significantly to the result of the match.

He was introduced with 20 minutes left to play with the score at 2-2.

Just minutes after his introduction, Ngumoha showed the qualities that have seen him make such an impression at Liverpool as he ran straight at Spain’s defence to create space.

Once free, he whipped a powerful pass across the box that took a slight deflection off the goalkeeper and fell into the path of Harrison Armstrong who gleefully tapped home to make it 3-3 – Ngumoha’s first assist at that level.

Rio Ngumoha is certainly one to watch this season, as the direct and explosive winger continues to build on signs of real promise.

Liverpool’s acquisition of Ngumoha was seen as a major coup, and after his switch from Chelsea, many Blues fans simply couldn’t understand that they’d let a player of such potential leave.

Liverpool and Arne Slot presented a pathway for the youngster, and he is currently striding down it, with more success for the young man surely on its way.
