Liverpool are looking to strengthen all over the park ahead of the new season but departures may leave one area of the pitch a little thin.
The Reds’ transfer window has only just begun yet it is leaving fans on the edge of their seats with excitement.
Jeremie Frimpong’s move to Liverpool is done, the Florian Wirtz deal is almost complete and Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez has shown he is keen to make the switch to Anfield.
However, the club are not done there, Liverpool want to bring in a young centre-back and a striker this summer, especially as players like Jarell Quansah, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez are set to leave.
A new number nine is like a shiny new toy that every football fan dreams of, and there is one name in particular that Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler still thinks they should sign.

Fowler urged Liverpool to sign Ollie Watkins only last month, and he has continued to double down on his claim.
During a Q&A on his X account, Fowler was asked which striker he thinks would be best suited to joining the Reds “I’d take Ollie Watkins … works hard, got goals in him.”

Despite a manic summer already, Liverpool are still aiming to bring in a striker after sorting out the Wirtz and Kerkez deals, although surprisingly, Watkins’ name has not been mentioned much at all.
Liverpool’s strikers have lacked goals this season and this has led to rumours of Nunez and Jota leaving, with Fowler clearly thinking that Watkins would be the man to increase the Reds’ output in this position next season.
However, Hugo Ekitike is heavily linked to Liverpool and seems more likely at this stage than Watkins, with other players being touted for a move to Anfield, such as Alexander Isak, Victor Osimhen and Benjamin Sesko.
Despite Trent Alexander-Arnold’s move to Real Madrid only being announced a few days ago, the arrival of Frimpong means Liverpool fans have swiftly moved on.

However, although signing what looks to be an excellent replacement, Fowler gave his honest thoughts on the Scouser leaving.
“Gutted… but understand,” he said.
knew I was a commodity then.”
Liverpool fans would likely agree that the 26-year-old departing his boyhood club is gutting, but as one door closes, another one opens, and Frimpong has the chance to show fans that he is capable of filling the void.
