Liverpool are looking to make some sales this summer and actions elsewhere could play a huge role in who ends up leaving.

The Reds’ summer so far has been nothing short of spectacular, with fans left shocked by the fact that their club has spent over £300m.

Their spending is not expected to stop there either and if they do end up signing Alexander Isak, then this figure will rise significantly.

Sales are, of course, expected regardless of whether new signings are made or not, with many key stars set for departures.

And, there is one player in particular who could now make a move all thanks to ex-Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino, with the Brazilian opening the door for an overdue exit.

Firmino is the last number nine that Liverpool had who was a success both on and off the pitch, with the Brazilian a truly phenomenal player and big fan favourite.

Since his departure from Anfield, he had been playing in Saudi Arabia for Al Ahli, but after two years at the club, he has moved onto pastures new and signed for Qatari side Al Sadd at the age of 33.

This has left Al Ahli short of a striker and according to journalist Paul Joyce at The Times, the Saudi club are considering a bid for Darwin Nunez as his replacement.

Nunez wanted to stay in Europe but with Liverpool’s £65m asking price being far too high for the likes of Napoli and AC Milan, a move to the Kingdom appears the only viable option.

Liverpool could be holding out for a Saudi club to make a big bid, hence why they are being so stubborn and refusing to budge, with this now looking likely.

Al Hilal could also make a move after looking like they will miss out on Isak, and so too could Al Nassr, with Jorge Jesus their manager and Nunez’s old boss at Benfica.

Either way, Nunez is highly likely to depart and he may have to settle on a move to Saudi, although he probably will not mind too much once he sees the wages that he could be offered.

Although they are almost guaranteed to make a loss on the Uruguayan, Nunez has to go this summer despite impressing in pre-season.

With Hugo Ekitike arriving, he has already been moved down in the pecking order, and if Isak joins too, then the door to the first-team appears completely shut.

Saudi can pay big money too so if they get anywhere near their £65m asking price, then they will likely accept without hesitancy.
