Roberto Firmino knows what it takes to deliver on the big stage.

The pressure, the noise, the spotlight — it’s nothing new to the Brazilian forward.

But something about this one felt different.

It wasn’t the English Premier League or a UEFA Champions League night at Anfield.

Still, the energy in Jeddah had the same edge.

The crowd was wild.

The stadium gates were shut two hours before kickoff.

Thousands forced their way in when security opened up again?

A continental final.

And Firmino showed up again.

On Saturday night, Roberto Firmino led Al Ahli Saudi to their first-ever AFC Champions League Elite title with a 2-0 win over Kawasaki Frontale at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.

The win sealed their status as the champions of Asia, marking a historic moment as they claimed their first-ever continental title with a dominant performance.

Firmino was involved in both goals.

He assisted Galeno’s opener in the 35th minute — a stunning curler into the top right corner — then set up Franck Kessie for the second just seven minutes later with strong work down the right.

That performance raised Firmino’s assist tally to seven in 12 matches, second-best in the competition.

Only his teammate, Riyad Mahrez, has more with eight.

His impact in this tournament has been huge.

Saturday’s win capped off a run that saw Al Ahli beat Buriram United in the quarter-final and Saudi rivals Al Hilal in the semi-final.

The final wasn’t short on emotion either.

Over 58,000 fans packed “The Jewel” in Jeddah.

Ahli right back Ali Majrashi got the loudest cheer during team announcements and even exchanged words with Kawasaki’s Marcinho early in the match.

But in the end, Firmino and Mahrez — two former Premier League stars — made sure the trophy stayed in Saudi Arabia.

And for Firmino, it’s another big night on a growing list of them.
