The Athletic’s James Pearce has provided an intriguing update on Rodrygo that Liverpool fans won’t like.

The Brazilian’s name became linked to Liverpool in the last couple of days amid the uncertainty over Luis Diaz.

Diaz is attracting serious interst from several clubs, including Bayern Munich who are the frontrunners for hos signature.

The Bavarians have seen two bids rejected by Liverpool, but are preparing a third improved offer for Diaz.

Liverpool insist that they don’t want to sell, but the player has wants to leave Anfield this summer.

As such, there has been reports that should he leave, Liverpool will sign Real Madrid star Rodrygo as a replacement.

A recent report from ESPN Brazil claimed that Liverpool have already established contact with the player’s agent and will do everything in their power to sign him.

Another recent report from Spain asserted that the Reds’ pursuit of the 24-year-old is fueled by their desire to ‘seek revenge’ over Real Madrid.

However, amid the several claims that Liverpool want to sign Rodrygo, The Athletic’s James Pearce has revealed that Liverpool do not want to sign the Brazilian as a replacement for Diaz.

“Real Madrid’s Rodrygo currently not viewed as a possible replacement if Diaz does go.

No talks,” the journalist wrote on X.
