Liverpool’s long-term interest in Rodrygo Goes has not gone away.

The Brazilian forward first caught the Reds’ attention back in 2017 when he was still at Santos.

He turned down a move to Anfield at the time, but the club has continued to follow his progress.

Now, with uncertainty around his role at Real Madrid, there looks to be a fresh opportunity.

Liverpool are not actively pursuing him at this stage, but they remain interested — especially if Luis Diaz is sold this summer.

Diaz has interest from Barcelona and Saudi side Al-Nassr, and if he leaves, Liverpool are expected to make a serious approach for Rodrygo.

Rodrygo is reportedly experiencing his most difficult period since joining Real Madrid.

According to GIVEMESPORT, he is feeling “marginalised both on the field and behind the scenes.”

His playing time has dropped, and he’s been overshadowed by high-profile teammates like Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and Jude Bellingham.

Although Rodrygo was committed to staying not long ago, his stance has shifted.

“Less than two months ago, he was adamant his future remains at Real Madrid,” the report said.

“Yet sources have confirmed he has now been questioning his place at the club for the first time.”

If he does choose to leave, the forward won’t be short of options.

But Liverpool remain a serious possibility.

They are keeping tabs and could move if the player signals intent.

“He would be open-minded about where he could land next,” the report revealed.

As of now, Liverpool are not making a formal bid, but they’re prepared to act if the situation opens up.

The report continued, “They are not actively pursuing him at this stage but will be open to doing so if he indicates a true desire to move on.”

Rodrygo has a release clause of over £850 million, but Real Madrid would not pay that for one player and are likely to negotiate a realistic fee.

The 23-year-old prefers playing on the right but can operate across the front line, making him a strong option in any future attack.
