Besiktas have recently expressed interest in signing Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano. In the past 24 to 48 hours, the Turkish club reportedly reached out regarding Chiesa, attempting to arrange a loan deal. However, Liverpool has no intention of letting Chiesa leave on loan, preferring a permanent transfer for any potential move to be considered.

Chiesa remains under contract with Liverpool until 2028 but has made only one Premier League start so far. This limited playing time may prompt him to consider leaving in the January transfer window to secure regular football, especially to improve his chances of featuring in the World Cup if Italy qualifies. Besiktas could provide a new environment for Chiesa, continuing a trend of Italian players moving to the Turkish Super Lig, including notable names like Mario Balotelli, Leonardo Bonucci, Ciro Immobile, and Nicolo Zaniolo.

If Chiesa joins Besiktas, he would be entering a team undergoing transition after the recent sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with former manager Sergen Yalcin returning to take charge. Besiktas recently parted ways with ex-Liverpool player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Should Chiesa arrive, his key role would be to create scoring opportunities, particularly for Besiktas' new striker Tammy Abraham, formerly of Chelsea, helping ease the goal-scoring responsibilities on the English forward.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are focused on long-term planning, with a future contract already arranged to succeed Virgil van Dijk in 2027. They have also encountered challenges in the centre-back market, missing out on Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi and facing interest from Real Madrid for rising star Rio Ngumoha.
