Dimitar Berbatov, Martin Skrtel and Roy Keane were among the heroes who returned to Anfield for Liverpool and Manchester United’s Legends game.

Liverpool and Manchester United are currently not in action due to the international break, but Saturday’s encounter offered plenty of entertainment for the clubs’ fans.

Iconic former Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish and boyhood Manchester United fan and former starlet Andy Ritchie stood in the dugouts on as both clubs rolled back the years.

Keane then came on for Man United, alongside Denis Irwin – who scored 33 goals for the club in between 1990 and 2002.

Meanwhile, Manchester United legend Keane – who played 472 times for the Red Devils – unsurprisingly had a less friendly welcome and was booed by the Anfield faithful as he came on with twenty minutes to go.

But the Red Devils’ substitutes were to no avail, as Liverpool soon went in front, with former Reds forward Florent Pongolle finding the bottom-right corner.

Liverpool were defending their ‘Legends of the North’ title from back in May after a 3-1 win at Old Trafford, and this fixture saw plenty of familiar faces.
