And now, with the future of Alexander Isak still being up in the air, the former Man United man has given his thoughts on where the future of Newcastle’s star man could lie.
Ever since the transfer window opened at the start of June, it’s been clear that Isak was Arne Slot’s number one target.
As mentioned, Neville himself said Liverpool, but so did Jill Scott, Jamie Carragher and Ian Wright.

However, after Neville admitted that Isak could be going to Liverpool, he added the following: “I hope it’s Newcastle, but I think it’ll be Liverpool.”
Carragher then replied with: “I think a little problem is that Liverpool and Newcastle play each other [on the] second game of the season at St James’ Park.
“There’s no way that the deal gets done before then.”
One of the main things that has left a fair few Liverpool fans confused is the fact that the Reds still want to sign Isak even though they’ve already signed Hugo Ekitike.

Indeed, although Ekitike ended the season with more goal contributions altogether, it’s hard to look past the fact that Isak managed to score 23 of his 27 goals in the Premier League.
At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen before transfer deadline day, but with the way that things have progressed over the last few days, it’s hard to see how Isak doesn’t end up becoming a Liverpool player this summer.
