With Marc Guehi's contract expiring in 2026, there might be a chance for Liverpool to get a relatively good price for the Crystal Palace defender this summer — and an awkward exchange was spotted over the weekend.
Crystal Palace drew 0-0 at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea, and at the end of the match, Guehi appeared to ignore his manager, Oliver Glasner, who was trying to get his attention.
"Managers come on the pitch and shake hands with everybody when you have had a tough game.
Guehi's just had a tough match, he's probably physically exhausted, and the manager's coming up trying to chit-chat, knowing there's talk about him leaving.
"As a player, you don't want to get involved with that.
It's just a league match.
He's had a tough game, and the manager, are you playing games?"
Even after signing Giovanni Leoni from Parma last week, Liverpool could still move for England international Guehi as well.
He played in the Community Shield against Liverpool, lifting the silverware at Wembley after the Eagles won on penalties.
He then played the full game at Stamford Bridge as Crystal Palace earned a point on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season
