Man United manager Ruben Amorim is being backed to turn around the club’s fortunes after making a major decision.
Amorim was appointed Man United manager last season and endured a tough start to life at Old Trafford, with the Red Devils finishing the campaign 15th.
An important win over Burnley gave Man United their first win before the international break and before they travel to their rivals Man City.

As per the Daily Mail [11 September], Rio Ferdinand believes the club are “backing the manager,” and that Amorim is now starting to put his stamp on the squad.
“If people were thinking there were any doubts about the club backing the manager or Amorim being at the football club, it’s only going to be his decision whether Onana stays or Lammens comes in.

“He played (Altay) Bayindir early on and said he’s in because of football reasons – that was a big statement from the manager and his intentions of what he wanted to do with Onana.”

With the Manchester derby up next, Amorim must decide whether he gives Lammens his debut or sticks with Altay Bayindir.
Bayindir has looked uncomfortable in-between the sticks, particularly from set-pieces, and was only a short-term solution for Amorim whilst he looked to sign a new goalkeeper.
So far there hasn’t been a convincing performance under Amorim, and the Red Devils are already playing catch up in search of reclaiming a European spot.
