Ruben Amorim continues to be linked with replacing Jurgen Klopp as the next Liverpool manager.
The Reds have just six Premier League fixtures remaining this season before Klopp's reign comes to an end. There is also a Europa League quarter-final second leg against Atalanta where Liverpool have a 3-0 deficit and face an uphill task to reach the semi-final.
Klopp announced in January that he would be leaving Anfield at the end of the campaign. Several candidates have emerged as potential successors, where Xabi Alonso was listed as the early favourite before confirming that he would be remaining in charge of Bayer Leverkusen.
Amorim has now been installed as the favourite with some reports to be the next Liverpool manager. The 39-year-old is currently looking to guide Sporting Lisbon to the league title for the second time in his reign, following his previous success in 2020/21.

Sporting are currently four points ahead of Lisbon rivals Benfica with a game in hand and six fixtures left to play this season. However, Amorim's track record at Sporting shows he follows a similar trend to Klopp at Liverpool.
Before Amorim's appointment in 2020, Sporting had not won a league title since 2002. Sporting had become accustomed to seeing bitter rivals Benfica win league titles in that two-decade spell before Amorim ended that run in 2021 with the Primeira Liga title success.
Last season saw Benfica win the title with Sporting finishing 13 points behind in fourth place. Amorim has previously spoken about the challenges of chasing down teams ahead of Sporting in the table.
"It's important because, even if we do our job, if others don't lose points, we don't get to those places," Amorim told Sporting's official website in March 2023. "This is yet another moment in which we have to win, as we had in other games with Boavista FC and FC Arouca, in which we had to win and in which we didn't. You have to be aware of that, face it and tomorrow we have to win."
Amorim is also no stranger to rotating his squad to cope with the challenges of competing in multiple competitions. Last season saw Sporting reach the Europa League quarter-final while also battling to achieve a strong finish domestically, something that Klopp has also been doing this season at Liverpool.
"We don't reserve players," said Amorim last year when asked if future fixtures affected his team selections. "We rotate because we have quality players, the characteristics of the game are different and we have to keep that in mind in order to win the games."
