Ruben Amorim may already be second-guessing one of his latest additions at Man United after recent developments during the international window.
Tension is rising between Amorim and the Man United hierarchy, especially after the summer transfer window, which saw some of the manager’s key moves blocked before the deadline.
With just one victory, a rather controversial one against Burnley, in the opening four games of the 2025/26 campaign, the boss has done very little to provide confidence to the supporters.
That is even after a full window of signings under his belt, including Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Senne Lammens, as well as a whole host of important outgoings.

Benjamin Sesko also arrived from RB Leipzig on a £64 million deal, but after stepping up 10th in the penalty shootout against Grimsby Town, questions have been raised over his signing.
The 22-year-old striker has yet to start a single Premier League game, which was especially baffling against the Clarets in front of a packed-out Old Trafford before the international break.
With the Slovenia international jetting out on international duty this week, Man United fans were buzzing to see Sesko in the starting lineup against Sweden on Friday, 5 September.

However, Amorim’s decision to keep benching the big-money signing may have just become all too obvious following his display in the 2-2 draw in Slovenia’s World Cup qualifier.
Reporting on the four-goal thriller in Slovenia, 24ur (5 September) slammed the striker’s performance as “almost invisible” before he popped up with a last-gasp assist for Zan Vipotnik’s equaliser.
Sesko had the fewest touches of any outfield player to play 90 minutes [FotMob], and if that had been in the Premier League, Amorim likely would have hooked his forward long before the final whistle.
Joshua Zirkzee appears to be trusted more by the manager recently, with Amad Diallo and Cunha both capable of playing through the middle, but Slovenia had very few options to replace their striker.
While Amorim will claim that he just wants his new player to adjust to the Premier League first, there are several worrying signs around Sesko, and his latest performance will do nothing to help his chances of pushing back against his first impression.
