Rangers fans have reacted in unison and have demanded for the club to sack Russell Martin following an update regarding Nicolas Raskin.

Martin has endured a poor start to the season with the club drawing all four games in the Scottish Premiership so far this season.

The situation worsened when Rangers were also knocked out of the Champions League in the qualifiers, suffering a humiliating 9-1 aggregate defeat to Club Brugge.

Despite the mounting pressure from the fanbase, Football Insider revealed Martin retains the backing of the Rangers owners for now.

However, after an update on Raskin’s future, tensions continue to rise as the supporters have had their say and called for his dismissal.

Raskin was left out of the squad to face Celtic last month and has not been a regular starter under the new Rangers boss.

With results continuing to frustrate fans, there had been hope he might return to the side.

However, STV Sport revealed on 11 September that Raskin will not be in the Rangers squad to face Hearts this weekend following talks with Martin.

Raskin said the situation at Rangers is “complicated” when quizzed about his future whilst on international duty with Belgium.

Despite insisting he is not pushing for a move away, he continues to be overlooked by the manager during a difficult start to the season.

Raskin was linked with a summer move away, but Rangers’ asking price of £20million deterred interest.

Now, even though the midfielder stayed, it appears he does not feature in Martin’s long-term plans.

He was a key part of the squad last year as he won the club’s Player of the Year award, and the decision to exclude him once again has angered supporters.

Rangers fans have already called out Martin this season, with the side sitting in seventh place and accumulating just four points.

His tactical decisions have come under question ever since his arrival, and it seems as if the supporters will back Raskin over Martin, with many calling for the manager to be sacked.

One fan reacted to the news with: “Russell Martin is not going to win this petty battle he’s insisting upon here.
