Even before the summer transfer window got underway, Arne Slot’s men were the favourites to win the title, and now that they’ve added Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz to their ranks, anything but a title is likely to be seen as a failure.

This summer alone, Slot and Richard Hughes have spent over £400million trying to bolster their first-team squad; however, due to the number of players they’ve sold, their net spend is just over £200million.

And, even though Wirtz and Isak will be the talk of the town for most of the season, others, such as Hugo Ekitike, have already taken like a duck to water.

However, due to the amount of pace Ekitike has and the agility he has in his locker, he’s managed to bob and weave through each defence he’s faced.

In fact, Chris Sutton has even dubbed Ekitike “ruthless” after his performance against Newcastle.

At the moment, most of Slot’s summer signings have done well, and, even though it’s still early days, the fact that Ekitike has already bagged three goals and has even chipped in with an assist shows how crucial he’s going to be throughout the 2025-26 campaign.
