Ryan Gravenberch misses Liverpool's Community Shield with Crystal Palace - with Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai starting in midfield at Wembley.

And Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk both return to the side after missing Monday's friendly games with Athletic Club at Anfield.

The Premier League champions meet the FA Cup holders in the annual curtain raiser (3pm kick-off) and are aiming for their 17th shield against Oliver Glasner's Eagles.

Gravenberch, who is suspended for next Friday's Premier League opener at home to Bournemouth, is not with the Reds squad who has travelled to London.

Van Dijk returns to captain the side alongside Ibrahima Konate, with Wataru Endo the back-up, auxiliary defender on the bench.

Left-back Kostas Tsimikas is not involved with clubs circling around a potential move for the Greece international.

Tsimikas, who joined from Olympiakos in 2020, is wanted by Nottingham Forest and Leeds United and has more Premier League suitors, it's understood.

Joe Gomez remains sidelined after an Achilles issue that was discovered on the Hong Kong leg of the tour last month.
