Ryan Gravenberch has extended his legacy at Liverpool by opening a new ‘Cruyff Court’ in the city.

The Dutchman enjoyed a remarkable 2024/25 season, solidifying his place as one of Liverpool’s standout performers under Arne Slot.

After a mixed first season at Anfield, where he struggled for minutes and to nail down a place in the starting XI, the 22-year-old Dutch midfielder found his stride this season.

The background staff that Slot brought to the club are believed to have played a big part in Gravenberch’s progression this term?

The 22-year-old played almost every minute for Liverpool as they won the Premier League title.

His stellar form this season has led to him being nominated for the Premier League Young Player of the Season as well as being included in the EA Sports FC Team of the Season.

Earlier this season, Gravenberch was honoured in his hometown with the opening of the “Cruyff Court Ryan Gravenberch” in Amsterdam.

The newly renovated football pitch in Amsterdam-Zuidoost, previously known as Cruyff Court Egoli, was renamed to recognise Gravenberch’s achievements, including winning the Johan Cruyff Award for Talent of the Year in 2021.

The court aims to provide a space for young talents to develop their skills while fostering community ties through sport, much like Gravenberch’s journey from local footballer to professional.

The midfielder has now brought the court to his current home, with the opening of a new Cruyff Court in the City of Liverpool.

The initiative is a way for the Dutchman to give back to the local community.
