Sheffield Wednesday have continued to suffer from the ownership of Dejphon Chansiri, with the threat of administration looming.
If Chansiri fails to pay a £7.4 million loan by 30 September, the Owls are likely to be placed into administration.
Amid their financial struggles, the South Yorkshire outfit sit 23rd in the Championship ahead of their clash with Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, 27 September.

Despite his monetary woes, Chansiri has shown no signs that he is willing to sell Sheffield Wednesday, who have been punished with a series of EFL embargoes.
On Friday, 26 September, the EFL placed the Owls under two further embargoes, increasing the total number to five.

Reacting to the situation via X, football finance expert Kieran Maguire wrote: “Another sad example of Chansirinomics.”
After former boss Danny Rohl left Sheffield Wednesday in the summer, Henrik Pedersen has had to cope with the intensifying issues under Chansiri.

Replacing Rohl, who steered the Owls to Championship survival in unlikely circumstances in 2023/24, before guiding them to a comfortable mid-table finish last term, would have been a tough ask even without the backdrop of financial turmoil.
But now that Sheffield Wednesday have been handed two further embargoes, with the threat of administration drawing closer, Pedersen’s goal to seal Championship survival is almost impossible.
The South Yorkshire outfit showed plenty of spirit to beat Portsmouth 2-0 at Fratton Park last time out, and will enjoy the fact that they sit above fierce rivals Sheffield United, who have suffered six consecutive defeats.
However, Pedersen’s side are highly likely to suffer a League One return, especially if they are placed into administration, which will bring them an automatic 12-point deduction.
