Callum Hudson-Odoi has revealed that he was saddened by Nuno Espirito Santo’s Nottingham Forest exit, but remains optimistic for the future under Ange Postecoglou.
After sacking Espirito Santo, Forest appointed Postecoglou as their new boss on Tuesday, 9 September.
The Australian successfully guided Tottenham to Europa League glory last term, although Spurs also finished just 17th in the Premier League under his stewardship.
Meanwhile, Espirito Santo’s final straw at Nottingham Forest was failing to bring on summer signing Douglas Luiz in their 3-0 defeat to West Ham United on 31 August, following disputes with the City Ground club’s hierarchy over recruitment.

Espirito Santo successfully steered Nottingham Forest to a Europa League spot with a successful Premier League campaign last term.
Meanwhile, speaking to talkSPORT about Espirito Santo’s exit on Wednesday, 10 September, the 24-year-old said: “He had a massive impact on me.
I’m wishing nothing but the best for the future.”
Unsurprisingly, Nottingham Forest have been criticised for their decision to sack Espirito Santo, after the former Wolves boss steered them to the brink of Champions League qualification after previously enduring a relegation battle.

However, many Forest fans were similarly disgruntled when the City Ground outfit dismissed Steve Cooper in 2023, after the Welshman won them long-awaited promotion from the Championship to the Premier League.
Owner Evangelos Marinakis was eventually proven right for that controversial call, as Espirito Santo successfully guided his side to new heights.
Meanwhile, even though Postecoglou performed poorly in the Premier League with Tottenham last term, the North Londoners’ Europa League success strongly endorsed his managerial ability.
Furthermore, before last season’s lowly top-flight finish, the 60-year-old guided Spurs to a significantly better fifth-place spot in 2024.
His exploits in North London suggest that Postecoglou can be a success for Forest, while he also enjoyed a successful tenure in charge of Celtic.
