Playing as part of one of the very best attacking forces in world football, Sadio Mané is well-placed to comment on what sets the best apart from the rest.

After joining Liverpool from Southampton back in 2016 for what now seems a snip of a transfer fee at £34m, Mané has gone on to win a Premier League and Champions League title with the Reds under the guidance of Jürgen Klopp.

Liverpool earned the title of the best team in the world at that point, and Mané elevated himself to world-class level.

Mané, who has notched 102 goals in 227 games in all competitions for the Reds, electrified the greatest league in the world alongside Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, playing a vital role in that most magnificent period of complete dominance over the game from late 2018 through to the summer of 2020.

But players such as Dieng, who can play as a centre-forward or off the left flank, fit the profile that Liverpool will be monitoring over the next year or so, seeing who can deliver in Europe's big leagues and who might be able to make the leap onto the very biggest of stages — but also not provide an major sting when it comes to a transfer fee.

More time and experience in the goldfish bowl of Liverpool Football Club will only serve to make him a better player, one capable of reaching the heights of those who have come before, or at least going close.

Mané has obviously been impressed.
