Man City defender John Stones earned a reaction from Savinho on his latest message as speculation grows over the futures of both players.
Pep Guardiola’s side slipped to another difficult defeat against Tottenham, after Man City lost 2-0 to Spurs at the Etihad Stadium on 23 August.
That result means Guardiola has now suffered 10 defeats against Spurs in his career, which is the joint-most he has recorded against any opponent, alongside Liverpool.
Stones had been linked with a possible Man City exit earlier in the window due to his constant fitness concerns, but was named in the starting line-up alongside Ruben Dias for the clash.
Meanwhile, Man City are continuing to block Tottenham’s attempts to sign Savinho, even though the Brazilian’s representatives are currently in talks over a potential deal.
Savinho has not been included in either of City’s opening two matchday squads, but he was among those to react to teammate Stones’ latest message.
Stones posted on Instagram following Man City’s latest defeat as kept his spirits high despite the defeat in their first league game at home.

He shared several photos from the match, including one of him applauding the supporters, and captioned the post: “Work to do.
Thank you for the support as always!”

The message drew plenty of interaction from teammates, with Phil Foden and Omar Marmoush among those to like the post.
Another noticeable name that liked the message was Savinho, fuelling further talk around his situation at the club.
As for Stones, questions remain over his future despite starting the opening two games of the season.
Football Insider reported in May that Man City would be open to offers for Stones, following another injury-hit campaign, in which he managed just 20 appearances.

While City are currently blocking an exit, former Spurs scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Savinho is keen to join Tottenham before the window closes.
The Brazilian featured 48 times last season but started only 21 matches, and with the World Cup on the horizon, he is eager for more consistent playing time.
Tottenham remain in talks for the winger and, according to Fabrizio Romano, they are prepared to bid upwards of £60 million.
