Savinho’s potential transfer to Tottenham remains up in the air after Man City provided an update on the situation.
Thomas Frank’s side are ramping up their summer spending to bring in more attacking talent after they signed Mohammed Kudus from West Ham earlier in the window.
Sources have told Football Insider that Spurs are in advanced talks to agree a deal for Savinho from Man City.
This comes after Spurs submitted a £43million offer for the Brazilian as they turned their attention away from Jack Grealish after he is expected to join Everton on a season-long loan.
Yet, the deal for the South American appears far from guaranteed after a new update from the blue half of Manchester.
According to a report by The Athletic (11 August), dialogue has taken place between the two clubs for the sale of the winger but the Cityzens remain firm on their stance.

City have said they do not want to let go of the 21-year-old and communicated that to Tottenham, deeming the matter as “closed”.
Pep Guardiola’s side believe that “it would take much more than £50m to consider his exit”, despite other sources suggesting the negotiations as “ongoing”.

Football Insider verdict
At first glance, this does seem an odd transfer decision to bring in the South American for an eye-watering amount considering the options available to Spurs.
Both Brennan Johnson, Kudus and a fully-fit Dejan Kulusevski can all play on the right-hand side, making it a strange move for a position already full of dynamic wingers.
Moreover, it is alarming that Daniel Levy isn’t prioritising bringing in a number 10 in the wake of injuries to the Swede and James Maddison, putting the creativity up top at risk.

However, nothing can take away from the raw talent and speed of the tricky Brazilian who would improve the Dane’s side if he was to come to north London.
With two goals and 10 assists across last season despite being heavily rotated under “Pep roulette”, the ex-Girona wide man still impressed when called upon.
His eye for a killer pass and crossing expertise make him a sought after man, possessing all the skills and characteristics the former Brentford boss values in a winger.
