Burnley manager Scott Parker shrugged off concerns around the fitness of Hjalmar Ekdal after the center-back limped off during the international break.

Alexander Isak's Sweden teammate, who has lined up in all three of Burnley's Premier League games so far this season, came off with a fitness concern during a 2-0 loss to Kosovo, but he is expected to be fine to play against Liverpool on Sunday.

Addressing Ekdal's fitness, Parker said: "He's okay, yeah.

He trained with us today, so he's okay.”

Parker said Burnley has no fresh fitness concerns after the break.

As for Liverpool, Jeremie Frimpong, who missed the wins over Newcastle and Arsenal prior to the international break due to a muscle problem, is expected to return having trained at the AXA Training Center this week.

Curtis Jones is set to be Liverpool's only absentee

Arne Slot said in a press conference on Friday: “Curtis Jones, of course, I don’t know if you knew, but he got injured in the last game, so he will not be available for the game against Burnley.

“The rest of them I think all came back [from international duty] without a problem."
