Liverpool have spent around £295m this summer, bringing in Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Armin Pecsi, Freddie Woodman and Will Wright.
Despite this, they remain keen on Alexander Isak, though a £110m bid was rejected by Newcastle last week.
They’re also targeting a centre-back following Jarell Quansah’s move to Bayer Leverkusen, with Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi under consideration.
Guehi’s contract runs until 2026, and he has yet to agree an extension.
With Ibrahima Konate linked with a possible exit and Joe Gomez sidelined by injury, Arne Slot is left with just Virgil van Dijk, Konate, and Gomez as senior centre-backs.
Gomez, often injured, hasn’t featured in pre-season and isn’t expected back soon, further highlighting Liverpool’s need for defensive reinforcements.
DaveOCKOP exclusively revealed that Toulouse and England U21 defender Charlie Cresswell is a name that is very much appreciated at Anfield.
Cresswell joined Ligue 1 side Toulouse from Leeds United in July 2024 for a fee of around £3.8million and has become a mainstay for the Occitan-based outfit since.
The 22-year-old racked up 34 appearances and scored four goals for Toulouse in all competitions last season.
Liverpool also continue to be linked with a move for Parma centre-back Giovanni Leoni.
Inter Milan are also keeping a close eye on Leoni, who is reportedly valued at around €40million.
He has been on Inter’s radar since last summer?
Although the club initially tried to sign him from Sampdoria, it was Parma who eventually secured his signature.
Leoni’s impressive performances for Parma last season have only strengthened Inter’s interest.
A key factor behind the club’s continued admiration is Cristian Chivu, who previously worked closely with the youngster before joining the Inter setup.
According to Sky Germany, the Reds are closely monitoring Giovanni Leoni, however, nothing has advanced at this stage.
