Jurgen Klopp's side have struggled on their travels however, having not won away from home in the top-flight since mid-September.

Liverpool have since suffered a defeat before three successive draws but would have been relishing the prospect of facing the Blades.

Sheffield United sit rock bottom of the table and are four points from safety after a run of one win from their opening 14 games.

talkSPORT have since revealed Paul Heckingbottom is set to be sacked by the South Yorkshire outfit following the 5-0 drubbing to fellow relegation-strugglers Burnley.

talkSPORT understands former Blades boss Chris Wilder is the leading contender to replace Heckingbottom.

Wilder was in charge of United for almost five years and had several run-ins with Klopp during his reign at Bramall Lane.

The pair had a fierce war of words after Wilder accused the Reds manager of being ‘selfish’ and called him a ‘world-class politician’ in his pursuit of having five substitutes in November 2020.

Klopp hit back at the ex-Watford gaffer days later in a heated interview with Des Kelly after his side drew 1-1 with Brighton.
