Sheffield Wednesday are determined to retain the services of striker Bailey Cadamarteri despite interest from local rivals Sheffield United.
Amid Dejphon Chansiri’s financial mismanagement at Hillsborough, the 20-year-old’s younger brother, Caelan-Kole Cadamarteri, joined Manchester City earlier this summer.
Thanks to Chansiri’s consistent failure to pay staff and player wages, the South Yorkshire club have also lost former star players like Anthony Musaba, Djeidi Gassama, and Josh Windass this transfer window.
Despite their struggles, Sheffield Wednesday defeated Leeds United in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, 26 August.

Amid Chansiri’s failing ownership, Sheffield Wednesday have struggled to sign new players this summer.
Meanwhile, according to the Sheffield Star on Monday, 1 September, the Owls are determined to try and keep Cadamarteri before the transfer window shuts at 7PM, despite interest from both Sheffield United and Blackburn Rovers.
The Hillsborough outfit’s academy graduate scored in their 2-2 draw with Wrexham in the Championship on 23 August.

While the Owls are eager to retain their man, Cadamarteri should be equally keen to remain with Sheffield Wednesday despite their financial struggles.

The striker notched just five goals in League One while on loan with Lincoln City last term, and could struggle for game time with either Sheffield United or Blackburn Rovers.
In some ways, the Owls’ current plight is ideal for young talents like Cadamarteri, who is guaranteed plenty of playing opportunities, thanks to their lack of squad depth.
Henrik Pedersen’s men are set for a season of struggle in the Championship, but the 20-year-old proved when he scored in an unlikely draw at Wrexham that he can produce the goods in the second tier.
Following the international break, the South Yorkshire side host Bristol City, who have started the season well under Gerhard Struber, and are vying to finish in the playoffs for a second consecutive season.
