Sheffield Wednesday have been placed under increasing sanctions by the EFL as problems with owner Dejphon Chansiri continue.
Chansiri was urged to sell Sheffield Wednesday when Football Insider spoke exclusively with football finance expert Dan Plumley.
Members of Parliament have suggested that the government’s new regulator could take control of Sheffield Wednesday if Chansiri doesn’t sell the club.
This was reinforced by finance expert Stefan Borson, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider, suggesting the regulator can remove bad owners from football clubs.

Senior BBC journalist Rob Staton has now reported that Sheffield Wednesday have been placed under two more embargoes by the EFL.
Stanton wrote on X, saying: “Sheffield Wednesday appear to be back under two more EFL embargoes, this time relating to regulations on ‘Future Financial Information’ and a Profit & Sustainability rule on ‘Secure Funding’.”
