Liverpool defender Nat Phillips could leave the Merseyside club on loan before deadline day next week, according to journalist Ian Doyle. “Well, there’s definitely interest in Phillips from a number of clubs and Liverpool are expecting it to become concrete before Tuesday’s deadline,” Doyle said.

“That’s why the Reds chose to recall Rhys Williams from his loan at Blackpool as extra cover. “It would be slightly surprising if it’s a loan again, but Phillips is under contract for a few years yet and possibly time in the shop window will aid a sale in the summer.



Williams being recalled from his loan spell where he had been developing, was already a poor decision.



Therefore, having earned his chance to compete for first-team football, it was only fair for Liverpool to grant Phillips his move away.
