Crystal Palace have been urged to sell Marc Guehi this summer by the club’s former owner.
Liverpool are monitoring the England international’s situation ahead of his contract expiring at the end of the season.
The Eagles rejected four bids from Newcastle United last summer, with the highest totalling £65m, while Tottenham Hotspur were also knocked back in their efforts to sign the 24-year-old in January.
Liverpool are in the market for a new centre-back after agreeing to sell Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen in a £35m deal.
And while the Reds are prioritising pursuing a younger defender with high potential, they are also interested in Guehi due to his contract status.

The England international captained the Eagles to FA Cup glory back in May, and, if he stays put at Selhurst Park, will take them into the Europa League this season.
The ECHO has been informed that Guehi would jump at the opportunity to move to Anfield if the opportunity arose, while it has also been suggested in the national media that the England international would be willing to see out his at Selhurst Park and then depart as a free agent next summer.
Likewise, Liverpool are keeping close tabs on his current situation at Palace as they assess whether a cut-price deal could be possible this summer or whether to revisit interest in a year’s time when the 24-year-old will be available on a Bosman transfer.

Palace - who recently announced that Robert Wood Johnson would purchase John Textor’s 43% stake in the club - are working on a £40m deal to sign Ousmane Diomande from Sporting Lisbon.
As a result, they appear resigned to their captain’s departure - either this summer or next - and are planning for life without him accordingly.
And former Palace owner Simon Jordan has now urged the Eagles to sell Guehi this summer, insisting they stand little chance of retaining the England international’s services following interest from Liverpool.
“Isn’t this of all clubs now that the challenge is that the bigger clubs, certainly the legacy clubs, so I don’t think it’s a poor reflection on Crystal Palace,” he said on TalkSPORT.
Leicester won the Premier League 10 years ago.
Does that mean Leicester are a less sexy club than Palace?
It just means that at this moment in time, this club is more successful.
“If you compare the clubs on an equal footing and a player chooses to go to a club on an equal footing in the same space, then you start to say that the club has got a problem and it's not a very sexy club to be at.
“But when you’re saying Liverpool, when Liverpool come knocking on your door as a top footballer, the Premier League champions, you go: 'I'll have a bit of that, thank you very much'.”
He continued: “Sell him, unless you can tie him down - you're not going to tie him down, are you?
