Liverpool kickstart their new Premier League campaign on Friday evening when they host Bournemouth at Anfield.

The coming days could prove to be extremely busy preparing for that big fixture but also pressing ahead with any outstanding transfer business as the summer window reaches crunch time.

For that, the head coach has been able to welcome seven new players into his squad - Giorgi Mamardashvili, Jeremie Frimpong, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Florian Wirtz, Armin Pecsi and Freddie Woodman.

The business may have cost Liverpool almost £300m but there is still potential for more arrivals, potentially even this week.

Top of the Liverpool transfer agenda in recent weeks has been Alexander Isak of Newcastle United.

Whilst strong admiration remains, no second attempt is lined up as things stand currently - exactly three weeks out from the end of the transfer window.

The situation would, therefore, need an almighty push to be wrapped up this week but the potential is very much there.

Another potential target for the Reds this summer is Marc Guehi.

The ECHO understands Liverpool are prepared to play a waiting game to land his signature, although Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has now admitted it would be a 'problem' if his club lost the central defender to a free transfer next summer.

"Yes, of course, for players of that calibre to leave on a free, it is a problem for a football club," he said.

The Englishman has been honest about his situation all summer long, acknowledging that he may need to leave for more playing time.

Most recently he has been linked with a switch to RB Leipzig with it claimed Jurgen Klopp is driving talks for the Red Bull club.

Attackers Federico Chiesa and Ben Doak did not feature at Wembley and there is potential for one or both to leave before the transfer window closes.
