Angelo Stiller is a name that most Liverpool fans have got acquainted with over the past few weeks.
The German international has been linked as a potential transfer target this summer, with local newspaper Stuttgarter Nachrichten revealing Liverpool interest.
The German publication reports that a transfer fee of approximately €60 million (£51 million) could tempt Stuttgart into selling their midfield orchestrator, despite having only extended his contract until 2028 earlier this year.
The interest in Stiller appears to be part of Liverpool’s broader summer strategy, with club captain Virgil van Dijk recently suggesting that the Reds are “planning to make it a big summer”
Since joining Stuttgart from Hoffenheim in 2023, Angelo Stiller has quickly become one of the Bundesliga’s standout midfielders, recognized for his exceptional passing range and composure under pressure.
His rise at club level has been matched by international recognition, as he has earned four caps for the German national team since his debut, reflecting his growing influence and consistency.
While Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister have both delivered strong performances for Liverpool this season, there are ongoing concerns regarding the squad’s depth and the need for long-term solutions in key midfield positions.
Notably, Stiller’s playing style closely resembles that of Martin Zubimendi, a player highly regarded by new Liverpool manager Arne Slot.
Slot’s admiration for the Spaniard is well-documented, and Stiller has emerged as a credible alternative, offering similar qualities in terms of tactical intelligence, ball progression, and defensive stability.

The 24-year-old has had an impressive campaign, chipping in with 4 goals and 9 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
And while he certainly looks like an exciting addition, Sky Germany has come out to pour cold water on the reports.
On their Transfer News Centre, Sky Germany have now denied Liverpool are interested in the midfielder:
“Angelo Stiller is an important part of VfB Stuttgart’s successful team,” it is reported.
“The national player is causing a stir with good performances
According to some media reports, even Liverpool FC has an eye on the strategist.”
“As Sky learned, however, there is no truth to these rumours
Stiller has a release clause, but VfB can buy it from his player for two million euros.”
“For this reason, the Swabians are also planning with Stiller in the coming season
However, if a top offer of over 60 million euros for the 24-year-old comes in, the VfB bosses would be willing to talk.”
Meanwhile, Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth has remarked on reported Liverpool interest.
